Veggie Tray

Here is one for amazon that looks good

I absolutely love the color of vegetables all together and looking so good to eat.

Each week when I do my grocery shopping I buy all the vegetables that we want for that week, wash them, cut them up, and put them in a tray.  I reuse the tray from Costco, I love the size and shape of the Costco one.  You can buy them at stores or on Amazon as well.

This is the tray from Costco. It comes with veggies in it so eat those for the first week then wash and reuse the tray until you need a new one.

This food chopper is amazing. I found that it chops the best size, if the recipe calls for small diced veggies. I use it every week to make cauliflower into rice.

I mix a ranch packet into a sour cream container and we have fresh vegetables all week long. We eat a lot more vegetables since I started to this.

Removing a Toilet

Removing a Toilet is not very hard.

Here are the steps I took to remove our toilet

1. Clean it (only because I didn't want to be dealing with a gross toilet)

#2.
Shut off the water to the toilet.
Located behind the toilet. Make sure the valve is running horizontal and not vertical with the pipe

#3.
Flush toilet to get out most of the water. Scoop out remaining water from tank and bowl.

You don't need to get all the water out of the bowl. I just get as much as I can so it isn't spilling out when you carry the toilet out.

#4. Detach water supply line

#5.  Remove all screws inside the tank that is holding it onto the base.
Then remove tank.

#6.  Remove the two bolts that are holding the base to the floor.

#7.  Cut any caulking around the base that is holding it to the floor.
At this point you can lift and remove the base of the toilet

#8.   Remove the wax ring.  This part looks super gross, but just wear some gloves and remember this is just wax!   Clean out as much wax as you can. Throw away the screws that are sitting in the wax, new ones come with a new wax ring when installing the next toilet.

#9. Make sure to scrape of any caulk that is remaining on the floor and then you are ready to install your new toilet.

There you have it, how to remove a toilet.

I told you it wasn't hard!

I did this wall probably three or four years ago I didn't take any other pictures than these two

Such a fun wall for my son's room!

bathroom faucet

I love the new faucet for our bathroom.

I went through 3 others to find the right one. They were either too big, to cheap, or didn't fit the holes in the sink.

I also had to keep in mind that the end needed to have this shape because I promised my kids I would get an attachment that would turn it into a drinking fountain. (still waiting for that to come in the mail-see link below for what that is)

So fun installing a faucet completely by myself an so far no leaks :)

That bathroom is  somewhat complete. I need to install the backsplash, seal up everything, paint the floors and replace the toilet!

Master bedroom

I changed everything about this room and had so much fun doing it. I love how it all came together. I feel so happy every time I walk into my room!

This room is one of my favorite before and after. ❤️

Before...
Before

I sanded, primed, and painted the dressers. I got wood from Lowe's, cut them to the right length, then stained them.  I used a nail gun to secure them.

After

Before

After

The small nightstand is a cheaper unfinished dresser that I painted and nailed the boards on top. Matching the dressers

This is before I added the top boards

I had painted all the trim and doors in my bedroom black and had it like that for a year or two, but got tired off it and changed it. I love it so much more!

Side note. Our tv looks so old on this picture, it's at least 11 years old. We need to update that asap 😁😉

My favorite part of this room is the accent wall.  I found vinyl wallpaper and thought I'd give it a go.
It wasn't too bad to do, however if I were to  do this again I would only choose a pattern that is not symmetrical, like this one. If I were to choose a pattern that had any sort of lines or was very specific on needing to be straight I would either do a stencil or actual wallpaper. It was hard to adjust this vinyl wallpaper once you had it in place. Luckily my pattern didn't matter and even places where it wasn't perfect you can't tell.

You can see where my fingers are pointing, are placed I had to make some adjustments and fold over on itself. With this pattern it didn't matter and you can't see the little flaws.

Before, I did always love these curtains but needed something lighter and brighter

After.   Tip for simple and cheap curtains. These are a painters drop cloth that I cut in half. I didn't sew them, just folded them over at the top to make the bottoms the correct length. I absolutely love them. I also used the same drop cloth for my bed skirt.

Love this décor.

pots and pans shelf

Things that are organized speak to my heart!!

I decided to use a router for the edges to make them look finished.

I cut all the legs down to the right size I needed. I'm sure it would've been good with 2x2 boards but I didn't have any on hand. I didn't want to spend money on this project so I used what I had.

This was the first project I have ever used a Pocket Hole Jig. It was a lot of fun and I can't wait for my next project where I can use it again.

Screwed all the legs on.

I'm very happy with how it turned out. I will want to get a pan or pot out now and cook some delicious dinner!

Amazing hack. I used the Walmart cheap curtain rods for lid holders. I actually bought two different types that are for lid hanging and they didn't work at all (even thought the reviews were great.) I found this hack on Pinterest and tried it. It works great and keeps the lids easy to access and out of the way.

Love this!!

Links to a couple things I used

Pocket hole jig    I will be getting this one after using one. It would be easier with the option to make 2 holes in one drill, plus the clamp would be very handy.

Get the curtain rods I used for the lids from Walmart, they are only $1.00

PAINTED TILE FLOOR

Our bathroom tiles was in major need up an upgrade. I found a stencil from www.cuttingedgestencil.com that I loved and went at it.  They also have options for custom size, which is what I did. I wanted it to be a large pattern to make the floor look bigger than it is.

This is the first time I've ever painted tile and so far it has held up great.

Cleaned the floor really well.
Put 2 coats of primer on the tile
Then used the stencil (love!)
Then topped with 3 coats of Polyurethane Semi-Gloss (they have this specifically for floors but I didn't want to spend the money on that so I used the regular kind and it is working great.)
